My New Political Place

My new apartment is located in the 5th Congressional district of New Jersey. The representative for this district is Joshua S. Gottheimer (born March 8, 1975)—born on the same day as my sister, and the same year as my brother. Weird.

He is an American lawyer, but of course.

Mr. Gottheimer has worked as a speechwriter for Bill Clinton, and as an advisor for the presidential campaigns of Wesley Clark, John Kerry, and Hillary Clinton. He has also worked for Burson-Marsteller, the Federal Communications Commission, Ford Motor Company, and Microsoft.

Burson-Marsteller is a global public relations and communications firm headquartered in New York City. Burson-Marsteller operates 67 wholly owned offices and 71 affiliate offices in 98 countries in six continents.

On November 8, 2016, Joshua Gottheimer defeated incumbent Scott Garrett in the congressional race for New Jersey’s 5th District.

“You can’t just turn your back on what made America great,” Gottheimer said of President Trump’s travel ban.

Good to know.
