—feel your mind squeeze
the throat—choke—a beatendown car—a side road—open
window retreat—the wind throughthe trees—natural static
—hissing beneath the traffic’sharsh slapping
doppler vibrations—past the corporate glass
dildos raping the sky—inch byinfected inch—all for the profits—
internal combustion— and a wheeze ofnoise pollution—turn them off—all
our various engines—on the countof a decade—and maybe
we’ll hear the breeze again—

I live in prairie country where just about every building is a single level. I spent three weeks in Manhattan once where everything is vertical. There wasn’t a breeze around and the sound of cars echoed off the buildings. I had quite an adjustment coming home to the open quiet that I enjoy. Love the poem, the sharp phrasing adds impact to the message. You have quite a talent.
